For example, if you're driving from Denver to Moab and leaving at 8 AM, we won't just show you 8 AM weather everywhere. We'll show you 8 AM weather in Denver, 10 AM weather at the Colorado-Utah border, and noon weather in Moab—because that's when you'll actually be there.

Is it safe to drive in snow, rain, or fog?

Weather safety while driving depends on several factors. Here's a quick guide:

Snow and Ice

  • Light snow (under 1 inch/hour): Generally safe with caution. Reduce speed by 30-50%.

Why are traffic cameras not available on my route?

Traffic camera availability depends on whether the state or provincial Department of Transportation (DOT) provides public access to their camera feeds. Not all DOTs share this data publicly.

Route Outlook offers two different ways to get weather information:

Trip Plans (in the app)

For planning specific upcoming journeys. You enter:

  • Your origin and destination
  • Your departure date and time

We show you the weather forecast for that specific trip—what conditions you'll encounter based on when you'll be at each point along the route.

Route Alerts (email notifications)

For routes you drive regularly. You subscribe once, and we:

  • No need to check manually
