Eastbound vehicles should detour using eastbound SR 20 and southbound I-5.<br/><br/>The bridge remains open to westbound traffic. Beginning as early as Tuesday, July 28, expect intermittent closures of the sidewalk over the SR 536 Skagit River Bridge to pedestrians, bicyclists and people using mobility devices between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily. The left lane of northbound and southbound I-5 will close from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly Sunday nights through Friday mornings through Friday, Aug. 28, near Alger/Lake Samish Road (exit 240) for fish passage construction. <br/><br/>More information on the <a href="https://wsdot.wa.gov/construction-planning/search-projects/i-5-tributaries-friday-lake-chuckanut-creeks-fish-passage">project webpage</a>.
Northbound and southbound SR 9 traffic will alternate over Klein Ditch bridge (milepost 87) south of Hopewell Road around the clock to inspect the bridge deck until further notice. Loads wider than 14 feet are not permitted over the bridge.<br/><br/>This work is part of a project <a href="https://wsdot.wa.gov/construction-planning/search-projects/sr-9-park-road-vicinity-and-sr-547-saar-creek-sumas-river-paving">repaving sections of SR 9 and SR 547</a> in Whatcom County.
